I will appreciate your suggestions. What works, what doesn’t? What changes should I consider?
Born in Ohio to a family of artists, Keith Gilchrist grew up in the Detroit suburbs. He fought in the infantry in France and Germany in World War II. A Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Chicago started a long journey of self-discovery.
Keith began exploring small business opportunities that led to designing and building Holly Hills Farms, a community of contemporary homes outside Detroit, Michigan.
A move to New York led to Partnership in a major management consulting firm. The establishment of his own consultancy, Gilchrist, Sutcliffe & Associates followed. Keith worked with Fortune 500 companies on long range planning, new product and business development projects.
Feeling hemmed in by traditional business, Keith became involved in the human potential movement. Over a three year period, he radically changed direction. In 1970 he trained and became staff Rolf practitioner at Esalen Institute in California. He moved to Maui to practice Rolfing while living in a hand built cottage in the jungle overlooking the ocean.
During the 1970’s, Keith explored Arica, EST and other approaches to personal growth. He spent some months in an Indian ashram then moved on to studying Advaita Vedanta as presented by Ramana Maharshi and Sri Nisargadata Maharaj. Along with experiments with psychedelics, he has studied, absorbed and practiced many different points of view and belief systems leading to a broadened understanding of what leads to personal fulfillment.
In the 1980's, Keith established The MINDWORKS, a multimedia design and production firm on Maui. He worked for 20 years as a graphic designer, building websites for artists, designing books, and producing videos. He expanded his interests and research to keep up with science and technology and integrate this knowledge into his work.
Keith is retired, living in Carmel Valley Village, California and writing this book . . . “The New Humans, Adventures In Self Discovery To Transform Your Life”.
